Please join us in keeping our island clean during your stay. Simple things like gathering up everything you’ve brought with you to the beach at the end of your day (or even a few more stray pieces of litter you spot on the way back to your car) makes a big difference.
If you’d like to have a spontaneous beach clean up, all of Hilton Head’s public beaches should have green baskets at main entrances to help you gather as much litter as possible.

HHI Earth Day Festival & 5K
April 22nd, 2023 | Coligny Beach Park | 9:00am
The Palmetto Running Company is hosting the first ever Hilton Head Earth Day 5K on the beautiful Coligny Beach. This beach run will benefit The Outside Foundation, and both children and adults are welcome to join. For more information about how to register for the race, visit the race’s website here.
Immediately after awards are given out, the Earth Day Festival will begin! All are welcome to this free, non-profit event that will host many different organizations involved in conservation and environmental efforts. This event is meant to be educational and fun, allowing families to learn more about any upcoming events such as oyster bagging, clean-ups, and more in the Lowcountry.
