Celebrate Earth Day 2023 on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island stands out from a long list of beach vacation destinations simply because the community is passionate about preserving the island’s natural beauty. You won’t find flashy neon signs or theme parks here, just landscapes filled with lush spartina grass, Spanish moss dripping from live oaks, and pristine beaches packed with shore birds. Many species thrive on the island and in the surrounding waters, and we’d like to keep it that way!

Please join us in keeping our island clean during your stay. Simple things like gathering up everything you’ve brought with you to the beach at the end of your day (or even a few more stray pieces of litter you spot on the way back to your car) makes a big difference.

If you’d like to have a spontaneous beach clean up, all of Hilton Head’s public beaches should have green baskets at main entrances to help you gather as much litter as possible.
