All Things Golf

Something tells me that Dad might be the one that schedules the tee times. In any case, Hilton Head is known for having award-winning golf courses—and plenty of them! For the sake of this guide, we won’t get into the nitty gritty of every golf course on the island, since avid golfers have probably already done their research. Instead, let’s look at the other options that might better suit the family whose golfing abilities (and interests) might be across the board.

The next-best, and most obvious choice would be to go mini golfing. A great way to spend an hour enthralled in some friendly competition, mini golf is a fun option that the whole family can do! That is of course, if your family isn’t known to get a little too competitive. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. There are multiple mini golf courses located throughout Hilton Head Island, each of them is designed with a unique theme and offer different courses for differing skill levels.

A relatively new addition to the island, Chronic Golf is an exciting, high-tech spin on your typical golf game. Because this experience is completely indoors, you can enjoy this activity rain or shine! The simulation sports bar is great for all ages and includes thirteen sports games in addition to the 100 golf courses offered. Sit back and relax in your private simulation bay, and order a tasty dish or beverage to enjoy while you play.

Birds-Eye View

Taking a helicopter tour might be something you wouldn’t normally think of doing, but is something you definitely do not want to miss.  By far the best way to see our beautiful island, Hilton Head Helicopter Tours offers numerous tours that can even take you to surrounding areas like Tybee Island, downtown Savannah, and Daufuskie. Great for all ages, this exciting experience pairs breathtaking views of the Lowcountry with a unique way of learning more about the area. With a wide array of options that consider time, budget, and interest, there is sure to be a tour for you.

Adventure, Anyone?

How about surprising Dad with a little adventure this Father’s Day? Plan on taking a trip to Adventure Hilton Head, where you can have fun for an hour or two, or even the whole day! There are three thrilling activities to choose from that are sure to be a hit:

The ZipLine Canopy Tour is great for explorers aged ten and above who are looking for a thrilling way to see the natural beauty of Hilton Head from a totally unique perspective. With seven ZipLines total, a swinging sky bridge, and a spiral staircase within the trees, you’ll be able to see scenic views of Broad Creek. We recommend making reservations for this activity in advance!

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous–and you’re definitely not afraid of heights–challenge yourself with the Aerial Adventures High Ropes Courses. There are four different courses ranging in difficulties between beginner and kid-friendly, to challenging and are considered expert-level. Each course has an array of activities that are at appropriate heights above the ground, and you may try out as many courses as your time allows. Similar to the ZipLine Canopy Tour, make sure you reserve ahead of time and everyone in your group is at least five years old.

For those of you who’d rather stay on the ground, try out the new GoKarts! Race around the track as a single rider, or buddy up in a two-seater kart. Check out the age, height, and weight requirements before making reservations.
