Fourth of July Events on Hilton Head Island

There is always something to do on Hilton Head Island, especially during the summer months. Add a holiday into the mix, and visitors are in for a real treat! If you’re celebrating Fourth of July with us, here is a rundown of some events and activities that’ll be held on July 4th.

USA 5K

8:00am

Coligny Beach

1 Coligny Circle, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Start your holiday with a morning run (or walk) on the beach! All ages and skill levels are invited to the USA 5K, produced by the Hilton Head Running Company and benefiting the Hilton Head Island Sea Turtle Patrol. All participants receive a festive t-shirt and finishers medal. This run will be held entirely on the beach at low tide, so expect hard, flat sand and plenty of room to run or walk.

36th Annual Firecracker 5K

Jarvis Creek Park

100 Jarvis Park Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Celebrate Independence Day at the annual Hilton Head Firecracker 5K! This family-friendly race and walk is Beaufort County’s oldest and largest race. Beginning at 9:00am, there will be three runs for kids that will be separated by age and distance. After the run, join in on the celebration at the post-race party and barbecue. Participants are welcome to enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, and two complimentary beers for those that are 21+. Have a blast with games for kids, the Patriotic costume contest, and a DJ on site. Can’t be there the day of? There’s a virtual run available!

HarbourFest at Shelter Cove Harbour

Shelter Cove Harbour

Listen to a live, patriotic performance by local favorite, Shannon Tanner, either at the 6:30pm or 8:00pm show. This family-friendly event features entertainment and activities for kids by Cappy the Clown from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Enjoy a pleasant evening in the Harbour with waterfront dining and shopping. The night will end in a dazzling firework display at 9:00pm.

The Nice Guys at Coligny Plaza

Coligny Plaza Center Stage

1 N Forest Beach Dr, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Visit Coligny Plaza for a live performance by The Nice Guys, a local band known to cover today’s latest hits. Every Monday you can find them on Center Stage, and the Fourth of July is no different!

Salute the Shore

Approximately 1:30pm-2:00pm

Hilton Head Island Coastline

A South Carolina tradition that you don’t want to miss this Fourth of July, Salute From the Shore is a way that those enjoying their day on the beach can take a moment to honor our country’s armed forces. This military flyover stretches the length of South Carolina’s gorgeous coast starting at 1:00pm–so keep an eye out on the sky! Dress in your red, white, and blue, and head to the beaches to see a combination of fighter jets and personally-owned vintage military planes pass by.

Harbour Town Fireworks

Approximately 9:00pm

Harbour Town in Sea Pines

Make your way into the Sea Pines property to enjoy the Fourth of July Fireworks over the famous, Harbour Town Lighthouse. Set next to the gorgeous Calibogue Sound, enjoy the night’s festivities including food and live music before the firework show commences. Arrive a few hours early to grab a bite to eat, to do a bit of shopping, or visit the Lighthouse Museum before sundown.

Please keep in mind that there is a gate fee to enter the Sea Pines property.

HarbourFest Fourth of July Fireworks

Shelter Cove Marina

The grand finale of that night’s HarbourFest, enjoy spectacular fireworks over the Shelter Cove Marina.
