2026 Events & Activities That’ll Help Get You in the Halloween Spirit

Spooky season is upon us, and to get you into the Halloween Spirit, we’ve collected a few events on the island that are all family-friendly and will all make additions to your trip’s itinerary. From trick-or-treat stops and other sweet and savory treats, to costume contests and live entertainment, there’s something for everyone!

Ghosts and Myths of Hilton Head Island

October 16-17 & 23-24, 2026 | 7:00-8:00pm

Hear spine-tingling stories and about the legends that haunt Hilton Head Island on the Ghosts and Myths of Hilton Head Island. The Heritage Library will bring Lydia Davant, Andrew Baynard, Cap’n Jack Stoney, Mary Kirk, Paulson Schwarzer, and Williams Eddings Baynard to life to retell the ghost stories of the Harbour Town Lighthouse, Baynard Funeral Procession, and the Blue Lady of Hilton Head Island. These events are not recommended for children under 12-years-old, and sell out incredibly fast, so book now!

Hilton Head Pumpkin Patch

All are welcome to this complimentary event hosted by the Island Recreation Association. This annual event features a field of pumpkins to choose from, as well as the highly anticipated Kid’s Halloween Costume Contest that begins at 5:45pm.

Along with pumpkins, there will be bounce houses and other games. Train rides, concessions, and chances at climbing the rock wall will be sold individually. Explore the shops and have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants within the Shelter Cove Towne Centre.

6th Annual Trick or Treat Trail

Halloween starts early on Hilton Head Island, with the Sixth Annual Trick or Treat Trail at Providence Presbyterian. Enjoy a cookout with the community and candy stations. There are more family-friendly activities, Deas Guyz concert, as well as a Bible storybook for all.

Halloween Wagon Ride

Book your seat on the Halloween Wagon Ride as it takes you on a spooky journey through Sea Pines Forest Preserve from Heritage Farms. Enjoy Halloween-themed games along the way. This ride is recommended for children and costumes are encouraged, but seats are going fast so reserve yours now online!

Halloween on the Harbour

Put on those costumes and head to Harbour Town for some fun activities, games, and of course, trick-or-treating around the beautiful harbour. If you’d like to join the Halloween fashion show, be at the Liberty Oak stage starting at 2:30pm. All ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged!

Coligny Halloween

The annual Trick or Treating and Costume Contest at Coligny Plaza is back for 2026, so get excited! Trick or Treating will be available throughout the event, so if you want to start with dinner or candy, that’s up to you. Many of the stores in Coligny Plaza will be open late to welcome all the little goblins and ghouls who participate.

The Coligny Costume Contest will start at 6:00pm, winners will be awarded Coligny gift cards! The categories include 0-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, Teen and Adult/Family. And new this year: the Pet Category for dogs and cats!
