With Mother’s Day around the corner, we thought it would be a great time to recommend a few of our favorite destinations that make for the perfect getaway for mother-daughter groups. Planning either a fun-filled or a relaxing trip with your mom or your daughter can be a great chance to reconnect and make new memories outside of your normal day-to-day, especially if the two of you have to travel just to get to each other!
Regardless of whether you’re looking to plan a trip together specifically for Mother’s Day or if you’re simply trying to take a trip in the future, read on for a list of recommended travel destinations:

Hilton Head Island, SC
If you’re looking to book a last-minute getaway for Mother’s Day this year or just an extra trip on the books in general, Palmera Vacation Club members have an advantage when it comes to traveling to Hilton Head Island. While the island is a great choice for all sorts of travelers, Hilton Head would be an ideal location for your next mother-daughter trip—and we’re not just saying that! Stay in a spacious Palmera Resort unit, where you’ll not only have a kitchen, living room, and separate sleeping areas, but you’ll also have amenities like beautiful pools, relaxing hot tubs, access to the island’s interconnected public pathways, and more!
Spend a peaceful day at the beach, where you’ll both have time to get some sun, dip your toes in the warm waters of the Atlantic, and even watch out for dolphins passing by just beyond the water’s edge. If you’d rather be out on the water, reserve a seat on a dolphin cruise or a table aboard one of Vagabond’s lunch or dinner cruises. If relaxation is what you’re after, book in-room massages or visit the Fountain Spa to indulge in some pampering. If you’d rather explore the island to see the sights and stop to shop or dine wherever and whenever you please, order a pair of bikes from Wheelz of Hilton Head.

Charleston, SC
Another Lowcountry location with an abundance of Southern charm, historical architecture, and plenty of opportunities to snap some photos to remember the trip by, Charleston, South Carolina, has always been a favorite for mother-daughter trips. Maybe it’s the walkability of the city, where you’ll be able to pop into a shop, art gallery, or café wherever you go, or its slow-paced atmosphere where it’s as if nobody has a care in the world, the Holy City is a great travel destination for those just looking to wander and see what they find. The restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops all deserve their praises, since many offer al fresco dining, beautiful views of the cobblestone streets, and are just downright adorable.

Napa Valley, CA
For the mother-daughter pair that are both adults, however young at heart they may be, consider Napa Valley in California for the next getaway. While you can certainly choose to spend all of your time in the town of Napa itself, we always like to recommend the entire Napa Valley as there are more charming towns included like Calistoga, St. Helena, and more that offer additional wine tasting experiences and other activities. Its beautiful, near-perfect weather and endless rolling hills filled with gorgeous vineyards make Napa Valley a must-see spot not only for wine connoisseurs, but for those looking to discover one of the United States’ most popular travel destinations.

Chattanooga, TN
Chattanooga is a great destination for mothers looking to spend some quality time with their daughter(s) of any age. Located in the Appalachian Mountains, you’ll want to pack some sneakers or hiking shoes as there are so many scenic hikes just a short drive away from downtown Chattanooga. Sightseeing cruises along the Tennessee River are a fun way to see the sights, but if you’re looking for a little more adventure, try whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River. In town, everyone will love a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium or visiting the historic train station, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, now a hotel and entertainment complex. Wanting to take a ride on a real train? Head to the Tennessee Valley Railroad and travel through time!

This charming slice of seaside New England offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, from its sun-drenched beaches to its storybook towns. Wander through Provincetown and Chatham, where you’ll find everything from quirky boutiques and cozy cafés to historic landmarks and world-class seafood.
