If you\u2019ve ever taken a beach cruiser for a spin around the public pathways or the hard-packed beaches of Hilton Head Island, you know how seriously the island takes its bikes. Arguably the best way to get around the island<\/strong>, there\u2019s nothing like the feeling of pedaling through town with your basket filled to the brim with beach basics, delicious takeout, or a sweet treat for later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hilton Head has maintained its Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly Community status<\/a> since 2015<\/strong>, and encourages constant conversation about how biking on the island can still improve. The town, residents, and bike rental shops have all been key players in this effort, with some groups receiving awards themselves! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this National Bike Month, Wheelz of Hilton Head has been given the Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Business Award for encouraging their employees, customers, and the overall community to get out and go biking!<\/strong> Wheelz has officially joined the movement of over 1,300 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States in transforming the American workplace to be more welcoming to customers and employees who bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
