Fall Events on Hilton Head Island

Even as the summer comes to a close, the action doesn’t stop on Hilton Head Island. The summer months are definitely “peak season”, but fall is basically a hidden gem for those who have enjoyed a round of golf or afternoon on the tennis courts without feeling like you’re going to melt, even though it’s still pretty warm!

Besides golf, tennis, and other outdoor activities that become even more pleasant as the weather gets a bit milder, there is even more to enjoy on Hilton Head during these upcoming fall months! The Hilton Head Calendar of Events starts booking up with great festivals and events for the whole family!

Harbour Town Fall Festival | September 23 | 11:00AM – 6:00PM | Harbour Town

The Harbour Town Fall Festival is a great way to spend your Sunday. Enjoy a sidewalk sale featuring all of the Harbour Town Shops, while live music from local artist, Deas Guys fills the air. The day will also feature watersports, tours and boat rides, dining on the Harbour all day, and children’s activities. The Carolina Dreamer’s Car Club will have selection of classic cars on hand with a chance to enter and win two tickets to the HHI Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance.

Burgers, Bacon & BBQ | October 5 | 5:00 – 9:00 PM | Shelter Cove

Formerly two events, the Hilton Head Island Rec Center has combined their Burgers & Brew with the Beer, Bacon, and Music event to make a bigger and better festival – Burgers, Bacon, & BBQ! The event will feature the Lowcountry’s best top chefs and restaurants serving their best dishes, along with many craft beers to sample in the beer garden. There will also be live music on two stages and kid’s activities! Tickets are $7 for adults, and Food/Drink Tickets will be available to purchase for $1.

Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival | October 13 – 21 | Old Town Bluffton

If you’ve never ventured off the Island to Old Town Bluffton, you’ll be in for a treat if you head over for the Arts & Seafood Festival! The festival is a week long event offering a wide variety of activities, showcasing premiere Lowcountry cuisine and Bluffton’s rich history and culture. On Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 20-21) you can enjoy the street fest showcasing over 100 artists, with delicious food and drink from local favorites, all accompanied by Live Music throughout the day.

Hilton Head Oyster Festival | November 9 – 10 | Friday, 5:00 – 8:00 PM; Saturday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Shelter Cove

Kicking off on Friday night, head over to Shelter cove to enjoy all you can eat steamed local oysters, lowcountry boil, pulled pork, seafood chowder & chili, and drinks available for purchase. Live music, football viewing area and wine pull are also going to be featured at the event. Saturday highlights steamed, fried and stewed oysters along with other delicious food for non-oyster eaters! There will be live entertainment, kid zone, Local Artisan Pop Up Shops, marshmallow roasting and a Sports Lounge for catching those fall football games!

Italian Heritage Festival | November 18 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Shelter Cove

Hosted by the Italian-American Club of Hilton Head (IACHH), the Italian Heritage Festival features live musical entertainment, a bocce court, grape-stomping contest, silent auction, raffles, a dunk-tank, a Kid’s Zone (with lots of inflatable fun) and much more! Local Italian restaurants will cook their own specialties, while vendors sell Italian-inspired wares and hand made arts and crafts. Proceeds benefit only local charities and scholarship funds. Tickets are $6 per person and parking is free.
