The island is already starting to come alive with fun events and festivals that celebrate holidays or the lowcountry’s way of life. Headed to Hilton Head Island this spring? Juneteenth

The Juneteenth Celebration is a multi-day celebration of African American freedom, culture, and resilience. There are many events scheduled including a one-of-a-kind overnight experience, Children’s Day, Drum Circle, and the actual festival on June 13th.

Lace up those running shoes and join in on the Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk through the beautiful Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park. Commemorate the significance of Juneteenth and choose to run, jog, or walk the course. This run is hosted with the Palmetto Running Company.

March

Hilton Head Wingfest

This annual event is as fun as it is tasty, with the Hilton Head Wingfest celebrating its 29th anniversary. Everyone is invited to both the pre-party on Friday night, but the main event will be on Saturday. Admission is $10 and children under 11 are free to attend. An impressive lineup of live music is set throughout the event, so you can groove while you try delicious wings from 20-25 local restaurants.

Celebrating its 41st Anniversary this year, you won’t want to miss out on Hilton Head Island’s Wine and Food Festival. You can purchase tickets for individual events throughout the island during the festival, or attend the largest event, the Public Tasting, on March 28th, from 12:00-3:00pm at Lowcountry Celebration Park.

Head to Harbour Town to celebrate the spring season! Shop Harbour Town Shop’s sidewalk sale, listen to local favorite band, Deas-Guyz, stop for a bite to eat at any of the delicious restaurants located around the harbour, and enjoy activities for all ages. The Carolina Dreamers Car Club will display a selection of classic cars, and visitors will also be able to take advantage of various watersports, tours and boat rides.

Enjoy an evening of live music and dancing, delicious food, and activities with a Modern Cowboy twist. This year’s benefit that supports Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park’s 2025 fundraising efforts will include live music, line dancing, and more! Plaid Nation 5K

Kick off RBC Heritage Week with the 4th Annual Plaid Nation 5K Run and Walk. Registration is online only, and the cut-off is on Wednesday, April 9th at 11:59pm.  The race begins and ends at Lowcountry Celebration Park, with the Plaid Nation After Party and Festival located at the BANK Beer Garden directly afterward. Participants will receive a finishers medal, t-shirt, a free beer sponsored by Michelob Ultra to anyone over 21, and 2 tickets to the RBC Heritage’s practice round. This is a ticketed event, and we recommend purchasing your tickets (and booking your resort stay) as soon as possible! A busy time on the island, people come from near and far to watch this stop on the PGA tour. Opening ceremonies will begin on Tuesday, April 14th at noon, and the final round will be on Sunday, April 19th after the Sunrise Service.

The Art Market at Historic Honey Horn

This annual showcase of handcrafted pieces by more than 90 artists, returns to the Honey Horn property during the last weekend of April. Works range in all mediums, such as ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, wood, painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. Listen to live music while you peruse the art and crafts, as well as delicious food and drinks. Admission is $5 per person, and all children 12 and under are free. Parking is free.

Family Fun Day

This annual cycling fundraiser benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island. Choose a route starting from either Hilton Head Island or Bluffton and cycle for a cause–remember, this isn’t a race! You will receive a complimentary lunch and a commemorative t-shirt with your registration. Need a bike for the ride? Wheelz of Hilton Head will be more than happy to rent you a beach cruiser for the event.

This free annual art festival is coordinated by the Nash Gallery and held in the beautiful, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina. The weekend will be full of art made in the United States, and plenty of opportunities for shopping and dining around the marina promenade. Enjoy live, local entertainment while you peruse beautiful art in various mediums such as pottery, jewelry, painting, glass, and more!

Dance the night away on Thursday nights this spring (and later on in fall) at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, where you’ll get to listen to live local bands and eat great food! This outdoor concert series also features specially-priced light appetizers, wine and beer from Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants, so there’s no need to bring that cooler or outside food/beverage. Please bring a canned good donation for the Deep Well Project!
