Hilton Head Island starts looking a lot greener mid-March–and we’re not just talking about the tidal marshes and flower beds! Every year, Hilton Head Ireland pulls out all the stops for what’s arguably the best parade in the whole state of South Carolina: the island’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. What visitors and residents wait all year for, the Hilton Head Ireland committee plan all year for, and we’re expecting exciting things from this year’s 40th anniversary of this long-cherished event.
If this sounds a bit familiar to you, you might’ve planned to attend last year’s 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Unfortunately due to weather, 2025’s parade had to be canceled. So here we are in 2026 with a second crack at the 40th run of the parade–so you know it’s going to be good!

Hilton Head’s Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is the largest and most anticipated parade on the island, bringing bands and specialty groups from across the country and a crowd of almost 25,000 strong together on one festive parade route. Within recent years, the annual celebration transitioned into a two-day event, but this year we’re back to the festivities focused the one-day-only parade event.
If you’re going to be in town, make sure to pack accordingly and wear your green!
