Coligny Plaza

1 North Forest Beach Dr, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

If you were to only shop at one place during your visit to Hilton Head Island, make it Coligny Plaza. Located near the island’s most popular beach, Coligny Beach, this open-air plaza is packed with locally-owned boutiques, surf shops, souvenir stores, sweet shops, and a wide variety of restaurants. Not only is it one of the best places to browse for gifts and beach essentials, but you’ll also find lots of live entertainment such as scheduled family-friendly programs at Coligny Center Stage, theater productions and film viewings at Coligny Theatre, and local musicians throughout the restaurants.

Harbour Town

149 Lighthouse Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Home to the iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse, Harbour Town is much more than somewhere to just go shopping. Designed to be the ultimate gathering place for locals and visitors to the island, Harbour Town offers local shops, galleries, restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating, a children’s playground, and the outdoor stage underneath the beautiful Liberty Oak. The Village at Wexford

1000 William Hilton Pkwy, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

This is considered Hilton Head’s more polished, boutique-style shopping center. Think artisan shops, clothing boutiques, fine jewelry, and other popular local businesses, from children’s clothing to needlepoint supplies and more. It feels like a hidden gem for visitors who want something a little more elevated without being overly formal, and The Village at Wexford has delicious restaurants throughout, so you won’t have to shop hungry!

Shelter Cove Towne Centre

40 Shelter Cove Ln, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Much like its counterpart, Shelter Cove Towne Centre is very walkable and mixes national retailers with local shops so visitors have a wide variety of clothing stores, home décor, accessories, and specialty stores that carry gear for running, tennis, and more. With plenty of parking available, Shelter Cove Towne Centre also overlooks Broad Creek, making it a beautiful location for shopping, dining, and even going for a walk or bike ride. Between the waterway and shops is Shelter Cove Community Park. This green space often hosts concerts, festivals, and other events, along with a playground and a trail that leads to Veterans Memorial Park and takes you past the Shelter Cove Sculpture Trail.

Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

1 Shelter Cove Ln, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928

Home to one of Hilton Head’s picturesque marinas, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina is a fun, relaxing spot to visit for all ages, even if it’s to just walk around. In addition to plenty of restaurants to choose from, the marina’s promenade is lined with boutique shops, galleries, souvenir spots, and specialty stores. Shopping here feels like part of the vacation experience itself—especially at sunset or on nights with live music, seasonal festivals, or fireworks being set off over the water.

BONUS: Tanger Outlets in Bluffton, SC

Tanger Hilton Head 2: 1414 Fording Island Rd, Bluffton, SC 29910
Tanger Hilton Head 1: 1270 Fording Island Rd, Bluffton, SC 29910

While not technically on Hilton Head Island, the two Tanger Outlets located in Bluffton are right across the bridge, making them incredibly convenient for visitors heading on or off the island. Both locations—minutes apart from each other—are perfect for finding major national brands with great discounts.
