Local Spotlight: The Bank

If you find yourself pedaling down Pope Avenue—a popular street on the south end of Hilton Head Island—chances are, you’ll want to stop and check out The Bank as soon as you see it. With string lights zig-zagging overtop tables and yard games, and the sounds of live music and people having just an overall good time, it’s hard not to be drawn in.

What was once a literal bank building has been transformed into one of the island’s most exciting gathering spots, combining indoor-outdoor dining, local brews, and a lineup of food vendors all in one place. Whether you’re here with family after a beach day, catching up with friends, or just stopping by for a solo pint and some live tunes, The Bank brings together the best parts of Hilton Head’s laid-back charm with a fresh, interest-gaining twist.

Take the Tour

Now stay with us here, because The Bank has a lot to offer!

It’s hard to truly know where the main entrance is since the beer garden and courtyard are right off the bike path—so if you’re biking or walking in, feel free to enter from there! If you’re driving, head to the back of the building for plenty of parking and enter through what we’d consider the actual front doors.

Inside, you’ll find the bar and brewery full of liquid assets on one side of the building and the food counter on the other. We recommend starting there to put your food order in before grabbing your drink and a place to sit—either inside or out. The seating outside varies from covered and uncovered individual tables to rows of continuous picnic tables that are perfect for groups of all sizes. However, the most coveted seats surround the fire pits! Just keep in mind that all tables are first come first served.

The Portfolio: Food & Drink

The menu is complete with shareable snacks fit for the finest beer garden like giant soft pretzels, fried pickles, chips and dip, and more, as well as various salads, tacos, burgers, pizzas, and even BBQ plates that will please the pickiest of eaters. There’s also The Vault, a retail store located in the bank’s original vault!

Outside, there is a window where you can walk up and order there, as well as permanent food trucks including Stackin’ Bread Sandwiches, All About the Benjamins Seafood, Ben Franks Gourmet Dogs & Brats, and Dollar Billy’s Ice Cream & Treats. For visitors wanting an adult beverage while they’re sitting outside, head to the Armored Bar in the beer garden where you can order craft or domestic beer, signature cocktails, and wine.

High-Interest Events & Entertainment

As if The Bank could get any better, the entertainment lineup seals the deal. The space is buzzing throughout the week with a variety of events and live music that keep both locals and visitors coming back. Local musicians, bands, and DJs are all in rotation, along with trivia nights and college football and NFL watch parties on the giant outdoor screen. Your group will also love lawn games such as corn hole and Connect Four sprinkled throughout the courtyard, as well as a putting green tucked to the side of the building.
