The Skyline Suite: Resident Bald Eagles’ 13th Nesting Season on Hilton Head Island

Almost one year ago, two Great Horned Owls named, Bayley and Joshua, along with their newly hatched owlets, were the talk of the island. Thanks to the Hilton Head Island Land Trust, viewers worldwide could follow along by Raptor Cam on the pair’s nesting journey from when the very first egg was laid, to when the owlets hatched in early February of 2024, and eventually to both of their successful fledging.

Fast forward to today, and the Hilton Head Land Trust has since added a second camera monitoring an additional nest in a different undisclosed location, allowing us to watch two of the island’s long-time resident Bald Eagles, Gracie and George, in their 13th season of nesting on the island. Earlier this month, Gracie laid two eggs that are expected to hatch after an incubation period of 35 days. Want to take a guess when the eaglets will hatch? Submit your guess online, and you might just win an eagle-themed prize pack from the Hilton Head Island Land Trust!
