Events & Activities That’ll Help Get You in the Halloween Spirit

Spooky season is upon us, and to get you into the Halloween Spirit, we’ve collected a few events on and off the island that are all family-friendly and will all make additions to your trip’s itinerary. From trick-or-treat stops and other sweet and savory treats, to costume contests and live entertainment, there’s something for everyone!

Hilton Head Pumpkin Patch

Friday, October 18, 2024 | 4:00-7:00pm

All are welcome to this complimentary event hosted by the Island Recreation Association. This annual event features a field of pumpkins to choose from, as well as the highly anticipated Kid’s Halloween Costume Contest that begins at 5:45pm.

Along with pumpkins, there will be bounce houses and other games. Train rides, concessions, and chances at climbing the rock wall will be sold individually. Explore the shops and have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants within the Shelter Cove Towne Centre.

Coligny Halloween

The annual Trick or Treating and Costume Contest at Coligny Plaza is back for 2024, so get excited! Trick or Treating will be available throughout the event, so if you want to start with dinner or candy, that’s up to you. Many of the stores in Coligny Plaza will be open late to welcome all the little goblins and ghouls who participate.

The Coligny Costume Contest will start at 6:00pm, where special guest judges (including the Mayor of Hilton Head, Alan Perry) will award winners with Coligny gift cards! There will be a 1st ($100), 2nd ($50), and 3rd place winner ($25) in all of the following categories: 0-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, Teens, and Adults/Family.

4th Annual Trick or Treat Trail

Halloween starts early on Hilton Head Island, with the fourth annual Trick or Treat Trail at Providence Presbyterian. Enjoy a cookout with the community, along with sweet treats like s’mores and of course, candy stations. There are more family-friendly activities such as movies, hayrides, a maze, and glow room, as well as a Bible storybook for all.

All are welcome to this free event, so mark your calendar!

Bluffton Spooktacular Halloween Celebration

Saturday, October 26, 2024 | 2-7pm

Head over the bridge into the historic town of Bluffton for their Spooktacular Halloween Celebration! This family-friendly event will include a Block Party, One Mile Fun Run, and Golf Cart Parade! The Fun Run will begin at 2:30pm, followed by the Golf Cart Parade at 3pm, with the Halloween Block Party following shortly after at 3:15pm.

Hosted by Bear Foot Sports, this event is rain or shine and cash only. Visit the event’s website to purchase tickets or ticket packages. Tickets for the Block Party are required for those 21 and older, but attendees 20-years-old and under are free. While outside food and drink are not permitted, feel free to bring leashed pets, and don’t forget your lawn chairs!

Halloween on the Harbour

Sunday, October 27, 2024 | 1:30-3:30pm

Harbour Town in Sea Pines

Put on those costumes and head to Harbour Town for some fun activities, games, and of course, trick-or-treating around the beautiful harbour. If you’d like to join the Halloween fashion show, be at the Liberty Oak stage starting at 2:30pm. All ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged!

During the event, there will be a Halloween Trackless Train that’ll take your little ghouls and goblins for a ride for $8 per person. You can book these tickets ahead of time on the event’s website. Also keep in mind, that visitors will have to pay a gate fee upon entering the Sea Pines Resort.
