May is for Mothers

A mother’s job is unlike any other. There are no days off, no time out and forget about sick days. We feel that although they should be celebrated all year long, May should be dedicated to all of our moms out there.

Since a gift is sometimes not so easy for our moms, we have given you a list of Hilton Head attractions that we feel any mom would love. This list includes adventures, wine and dines, sweet treats and solo or group outings that would be cherished forever. She could enjoy any one of these on the next family vacation or when she gets to take that girls’ weekend she has on her wish list!

Hilton Head Island Airport Updates

Earlier this month, American Airlines started offering non-stop flights to and from Charlotte – 3 inbound and 3 outbound flights per day, 7 days a week. The aircraft holds 76 passengers, which is a huge upgrade from the 28 passenger flights that were previously offered in and out of HHH. The launch of the flights comes after 8 years and $22 million of runway renovations, which were just completed at the beginning of July.

The new flights, to & from Charlotte on the bigger planes, truly open the door to ease of travel in and out of Hilton Head! Being in the business of vacations the way they were meant to be, we know that a lot of times travel to and from can be the worst part of the whole thing!!

Just to get a little more insight into the “reality” of the flights in and out of Hilton Head, and how easy it could really be, we have done a little “travel agenting” for y’all to check out.

To give an example of rates, we chose August 24-31 from these destinations to Hilton Head. It’s a Friday to Friday, so you can be sure you’re not looking at weekday rates that aren’t going to exist for a real vacation, and it’s about far enough out that it’s realistic for when you would actually be booking travel for vacations.

Here are the results of our little experiment:

  • Charlotte – $315 (1 hr 55 min travel time)
  • New York (EWR) – $380 (5 hr 4 min travel time)
  • Atlanta – $330 (4 hr 3 min travel time)
  • Nashville – $489 (4 hr 9 min travel time)
  • Washington, D.C – $429 (3 hr 34 min travel time)
  • Philadelphia – $410 (4 hr 14 min travel time)
  • Columbus – $414 (3 hr 53 min travel time)

Through the Member Portal, members can take advantage of 4 different ways to travel, find all sorts of discounts, manage their accounts, and stay connected to the Palmera team. To help you get started, we’ve created a series of tutorial videos that walk through the basic steps on making a reservation through each of the four options, managing your points, and more.  Plus, as we introduce new features to the Member Portal, we will also create new videos to make the experience as easy as possible.

Designed to incorporate the beauty of Hilton Head Island, along with your very own, personal idea of what makes the dream vacation, we proudly introduce the Palmera Vacation Club.  Inspired by tried and true concepts that put Hilton Head on the map, you will now have the opportunity to be a part of something which will allow you to create your dream vacations as you have always hoped they would be.   

To go forward, we first looked back to the genius planning of some of the most successful vacation clubs and ironically, found them to be rooted here in Hilton Head.  Knowing this, Palmera Vacation Club has worked especially hard to harvest outstanding relationships with select local vendors/partners which will enable us to successfully and completely fulfill our members dreams.  The Palmera Vacation Club takes into account the natural beauty of Hilton Head Island, and seamlessly meshes it with the sports, activities, dining and culture that you wish to include in your vacation plans.

While we encourage our members to look upon Hilton Head as their home base, Members of the Palmera Vacation Club will have access to a carefully cultivated portfolio of resorts not only on Hilton Head, but worldwide.  By use of members Vacation Club Points, members will have access to a global network of over 4,000 select resorts.

Members will have direct access to their very own bank of Vacation Club Points which will allow them to design their unique, dream vacation time and again.  Each vacation our club members design will be to their specifications, and no two vacations need be alike.  Members will have privileged access to these hand selected destinations which will service our members in the Hilton Head tradition.  Vacation Club Points may be advanced or deferred from year to year, which will allow members flexibility in planning.  Additionally, access to the exclusive member portal on the Palmera Vacation Club website will simplify the planning process.
